Madge Completes Secure Wireless Installation at Charles

Madge completed a secure wireless network installation at Charles
Wells Brewery as part of wireless project to provide its 40 sales
staff with wireless laptops, PDAs and phones.
The goal of the project was to improve forecasting and provide access
to key information. In order to capitalise on their existing investment
in wireless technology, Charles Wells decided to implement a complete
wireless network at their head office.
IT manager Dave Geilher explained the prior experience with wireless
technology.
"We tested Wireless solutions about a year ago, but before that, it had
seemed a bit flakey and unreliable. However, the technology is much more mature
and less risky now, so we were more comfortable this time. You need to know that
it is going to work because there's no point in putting it in just for the sake
of it."
The Madge solution was chosen because Madge was able to supply a
complete secure and scalable standards based solution using its 802.1x
enabled access points and adapters. In addition the Madge Wireless
Enterprise Access Server software suite allowed Charles Wells to manage
their network using digital certificates for maximum security.
